Sunny snarled slightly and closed his eyes once more. ''Callan, go..meet Dark,'' He said as he motioned to the massive black and white male a few yards away. He stood up and looked to moon. Windsinger was with him now...but he would need to speak to his uncle. ''I need to talk to Moon,'' he said with a snarl. ________ Tipony only shrugged, but didnt speak. Fornae seemed to be troubled, and she didnt like it. But she knew better than ask him what was wrong. She had tried it before, and it didnt work. So why try now? She sighed and continued to pad forward. ___________ Icepelt still seemed so proud of herself as she dropped the rabbit at his paws. ''Thought you would enjoy this,'' She said happily as she licked the last drops of blood from her maw. Her golden eyes glittered happily as she looked at him. ________________ Dark nodded to sahara and looked at Daharro for a moment. his attention was quickly shifted to RiverDancer who, after saying a soft greeting to her mother, ran off to pounce on a lone feather that had danced on the wind into the clearing. Its bright red color had grabbed the young pup's attention and now she was having the most fun with it. _____________ Moon looked at WindSinger and put a small smile on his face. ''Windsinger,'' he said with a nod. ''I dont think they could have picked a better wolf, than you,'' He said softly with a nod. He looked at her for a moment, as if trying to read her for a moment. ''Everything alright?'' He asked with a cock of his head.

Blackfang laughed, flicking his ears in agreement. "Yeah, you're probably right. I'd imagine knowing everything would be rather boring, though..." Another thought struck him. "Hey, since you know everything, if we had pups, what would they look like?" He was joking; he didn't plan on having a litter for a while. Then again, nothing was certain...
He nuzzled her. "Well, I think it's all worth it if I've got you with me." He gave her an affectionate lick before continuing. "But yes, you're right. He's lost everything... But whether that will help him lead, I don't know. It might be best to have a leader who can't be hurt by attacking his family, but I'm also worried that he might... well, he might not exercise much care with his life. He's lost everything, after all..."
"Yeah, I hope so..." He still wasn't sure, but she made sense. She usually did.
"Hello, Moon," he greeted the other wolf as they approached.

Tekai shrugged lazily, "I'm not all that sure." he didn't want to believe that the humans had arrived to shatter his perfect (or nearly perfect. Whatever) already. He might have bad luck with this kind of thing, but humans had never come for a pack this well set up, this well protected... But he wasn't going to fight this anymore.
"Perhaps we should go investigate." Tekai stretched, swinging his head in the direction of the rustling leaves. "Or perhaps we should go back to camp and warn them."
-
Callan bared her fangs indignantly, but she stalked away, her ears flattened furiously against her skull. She didn't bother mentioning that she didn't know who Dark was, her goal was to get out of here and give him a little lesson in Callan-appreciation. "Yeah, whatever." she muttered, just in case he was listening, "I'll go talk to him." her ears pricked forward, anger buried for an instant or two as she padded quietly along, headed towards the edge of the clearing.
-
Fornae would've tried to talk with Tipony if he were in a better mood. Right now, he just wanted to feel like crap in peace, but no one bothered to let him have it. His tail dragged along the ground, but Fornae brought it up, flicking it lazily from side to side, and his ears pricked forward in a fairly good representation of how he'd been before. "I think I smell something." he grinned at Tipony, "I think it's a hare, actually."
Sure enough, in front of them, the bushes rustled as a hare sprinted forward, and Fornae jumped into movement after it, "C'mon!"
Silently, he thanked the Spirit Pack for distracting Tipony. She was starting to dig around in places where her muzzle shouldn't be.
-
Opal raised an eyebrow quietly, prodding the body of the rabbit before he shrugged. "Thanks, I guess." He picked up the rabbit's carcass in his mouth and started to pad towards the center of the clearing. He didn't feel like dealing with this anymore. Icepelt was convinced that just because they'd escaped that stupid lab together that they were going to be best friends forever. It was like his mother had said - just because you bonded in times of trouble didn't mean that that bond would last. Why didn't Icepelt realize that?
-
Sahara watched Riverdancer leap away without response to Dark's greeting. She was starting to get tired of having things weigh her down, and with Dark always right behind her, he was just pushing her harder, which was annoying her. She wouldn't have had issues with that except that she'd spent seasons with this pack now, and she was getting tired of it. Sahara had never been made for a pack, and that was made clear to her now as she gazed around the clearing. One of these days, she was going to go hunting on her down and not come back for a day or so. That would be nice. She just couldn't do it until Daharro and River could take care of themselves...
-
Windsinger chuckled dryly, "There will be one white one, a black one, and a black and white one." she grinned lazily, flicking her tail against Blackfang's flank, "See? I really do know everything."
"You're right..." she examined Blackfang for a second or two before shrugging, "Well, at least we know we're not getting any nasty surprises out of him, like pups that should be dead, huh? I mean, Reyanne's been dead for a while, there wouldn't be any pups, and he doesn't look like the kind of male who'd start flirting after Reyanne..."
Windsinger wrinkled her nose at Moon's flattery, but she didn't react other than that. "No, nothing's wrong. We've just come to speak to you." Her voice was cool and calm, and Windsinger was proud that she'd resisted the urge to snap. Flattery didn't work on her, and she really disliked the fact that Moon thought it was going to make her support him if he did something stupid.

OKAY. We need to have Denali attack already. I've run out of ideas for what to have Shadow to do while he's all alone. ><

Hanala stopped and thought a minute. {I think the pack will be fine. There basicly all there. Moon is there too} she said. {I think we should go investigate, and if we find anything, we can either stay and fight if its needed, or run back to warn thepack} She looked at her stumped leg. /Humph. This'll definatly slow me down. But not much. I can run fast even without one leg/ she thought to herself and nodded. She scratched on a tree and left 6 long scratches in the bark.

Tekai shrugged, "Well, we should probably tell them before we leave, but I don't mind. We can do whatever you want. I'm not feeling argumentative today." he grinned, flicking his tail as he turned his head to examine the tree she'd clawed. Sap oozed from the clawmarks she'd left in the dirt, and the sap was warm against the air. He flicked his tail again and stretched lazily.
"So what do you say?"

Sunny stood there...mourning for his mother. He felt guilty, shattered almost as he looked at her lifeless body. ___________ Moon looked from one beta to the next and nodded as he sat back on his haunches. So much was going on...what a first day... ____________ Tipony laughed and shot forward after the rabbit with fornae, but didnt go faster than him. She often looked over at him with glittering reverse eyes. ___________ Icepelt could feel that something was wrong...What...she didnt know. Nervous, she stayed where she was and watched Opal walk off. _________ RiverDancer saw Callan and stood. ''mama, can i go meet her?'' She asked looking up at Sahara. Dark looked at the pup, then Sahara, then Callan. ''Is that...sunny's pup?'' he asked, confused.

Blackfang laughed. "Nothing's certain yet," he replied jokingly. Well, mostly. Maybe sometime in the future they'd have a litter... though he wasn't sure if either of them was ready for it. Still, Windsinger would make a good mother...
"Yeah," agreed Blackfang. "At least we don't need to worry about things like that." He was thinking about how Moon must have felt when Reyanne died... and what it would feel like to lose Windsinger. Inwardly, he vowed to never let that happen. Life wouldn't be worth living without her...
He turned to Moon. "Is there anything in particular you'd like us to do?" he asked, carefully adjusting his tone to show that it was an offer between equals. He wasn't about to start groveling before Moon, even if the other male was the Alpha now...

Robin slunk into the camp in full submissive posture, head and tail low with ears back. She usually avoided being around when there were so many wolves there, but she was depressing herself looking for Mokai. Even she needed to be around others every once in a while. She found a comfortable spot away from the centers of conversation and settled in for one of her favorite pastimes: watching.

Moon shook his head. ''Not at the moment, thank you.'' He said with a sigh as he looked over at sunny. ''I will have sunny go...do something to keep himself busy...'' HE said, more speaking to himself. He let out a heavy sigh. __________ Mokai sat just out of the clearing of the trees, watching. He didnt want to get far, for the chance that he would need them...though he wasnt even sure the pack would help a wolf like himself... __________ Breeze sat in the center of the clearning now, her eyes focused on nothing but the ground. Tired, confused, and well...tired. She didnt know what to think of the situation they were in, but it would come to her eventually.

Denali padded slowly through the trees, shadows concealing him. The campsite was just ahead, past a few bushes. All around him, humans were spreading out and encircling the campsite. With the other areas secured, the final members of the pack would be here... and here they would die. No tranquilizers now. The humans would shoot to kill.
Denali smiled evilly. Finally, he'd have finished this pack off, like he thought he had done seasons before. He wasn't going to leave anyone alive...
He walked over to one of the humans, telling him to signal Mojag and Hado to meet up with him. They would combine their forces before the final attack. He'd already summoned as many humans as he could to take part, and two of the helicopters would be arriving once the battle was begun, as well. Overkill? Perhaps. But he wasn't going to take any chances...
He crept back to his position. The moment his reinforcements arrived, they would attack...

All of Hado's humans had left already, except for the guards encircling the spot where the wolves had gone underground, and he'd take care of them later. Besides, those were the expendable expendable humans, which was why there was 50 of them in and around the clearing where the wolves had gone underground.
Now, all he had to do was get to Denali, which would not be hard at all.
It took him merely a minute at most of the wolf sprinting forward, and when he reached Denali, he was not winded at all. He was powerful and strong, and no one wolf would take him out.

Hanala thought a second. {I really don't think they'd care. We seem to usually be ignored, like were not good enough} she hissed sourly. {So I think we could just go} she said, lightening up. She grinned. {Besides, they might just ruin the fun} she laughed. {And that would be no fun}

Mojag padded up to Denali silently. His eyes watching around them. One spot of white was on his chest still, and a shadow lept infront of him, almost as if it was searching around them. He looked at Denali. ''I lost a few humans on the cliffs, but about half have joined your ranks,'' he said in a cool, but quiet voice as he looked around. The shadow lept forward, dissconnecting from his paws and zoomed to the humans, almsot checking if they were all there.

Denali glanced up as Hado and Mojag arrived. Excellent. "Loses are to be expected," he replied to Mojag. He couldn't care less about the humans. Both Mojag and Hado were alive, so there were clearly no serious problems... "We attack immediately. If you can capture any pups without much effort, do so. Kill the rest."
He turned to the humans, signaling with his tail. They calmly reloaded their guns with bullets and took aim through the bushes to shoot as many of the wolves as they could in the first volley. He waited until he was sure they had their targets, then flicked his ears once. One of the humans behind him ordered, "Fire!"
A thunderous blast echoed as several hundred guns were fired in at once, and the whine of helicopters began to hum on the horizon...

Callan glanced over her shoulder one last time. Sunny hadn't bothered to look up at her since he'd ordered her to go away. Taking advantage of this, she sprinted out of the clearing, brushing past the paws of Sahara as she ran, her tiny lungs stretching to encompass the most air possible.
By the time anyone noticed she was gone, she'd be as far away as humanly possible.
In her pell-mell sprint, she hardly noticed the click of the guns readying, but the the thunderous sounds of bullets were hard to miss. Callan gave a fearful squeak, even as one one of the humans swung his gun down towards her, firing the tranquilizer at point-blank range. She didn't have time to run or to hide.
It didn't take long for the wooziness to claim her, and the young pup collapsed on her side, breathing slowing as the man who had fired at her scooped her up and deposited her in a small cage nearby, returning to his position, ready to fire, seconds later.
-
Fornae snorted to himself, bounding after the rabbit. He could tell that she was holding back, and he would have cared if he hadn't already realized that caring was useless.
They hadn't gotten very far when the first round of bullets was fired, and nowhere near far enough to escape the murderous hailstorm of bullets. Fornae flattened himself against the ground as a bullet passed so close that it parted his fur, splattering into the rabbit with an explosion of blood a second later. A platoon of soldiers detached from the main group and headed towards Fornae and Tipony, speaking rapidly into a walky-talky with the main group.
"We've isolated two young wolves, they would be a year at most. Male and female." the man who was speaking had a rough harsh voice, and he would not be moved by much of anything.
-
Opal noted with a hint of relief that she hadn't followed, and after a second's hesitation, he tore into the rabbit savagely, his fangs making short work of what remained of the carcass.
Once finished, Opal lifted his head and begun to swipe his tongue around his mouth with the expression of a very satisfied cat. He was not paying attention to what was around him, and he therefore missed the approach of the humans.
The thunderous explosion of sound sent his head swinging upwards to examine the sky. Not a cloud in sight.
So what was that sound?
These thoughts happened in the space of a few seconds, and Opal didn't have long to wait - there was a sudden explosion of pain in his shoulder, sending the male crumpling to the ground as the pain blossomed outwards, crimson blood spilling from the wound and into his fur and onto the ground.
-
Sahara glanced at Riverdancer, then at Callan, then back again. Why should she let her pup meet that other pup? Callan looked like trouble, and Sahara herself was enough trouble. She didn't need more trouble in her life.
Luckily, she was spared from replying by Dark's next words, "Isn't he a little young to have a pup?" she snorted to herself dryly, a hint of amusement coloring her next words, "But maybe she is his. It would explain why she looks so annoyed with him."
Suddenly, the pup bolted past Sahara like a scared kitten, and after that, Sahara didn't pay her much mind.
Something was bothering her, and she wasn't sure what. There was a scent of two-leggeds on the breeze, and Sahara didn't like that. Still, the scent wasn't close enough for her to pay it much mind, even as the ominous click came, close, far too close to her ear.
She turned her head to gaze into the dark forest around her, and found herself looking directly at a stick. Barely a hundred yards away, a stick pointed at her accusingly.
Sahara laughed to herself, she'd been scared by that?
And then it happened. The command to fire came, and the stick proved itself to be a gun as it was fired, a bullet flying unerringly towards Sahara's chest. Blood spattered outwards, and Sahara gave a startled yelp, even as she began to pitch forward, so very slowly, and the blackness pressed against her vision.
The bullet had found her heart and she would die within the minute.
Sahara hit the ground, her golden eyes wide and startled, even as her last breath left her body.
-
Windsinger smiled at Blackfang's replies, but right then was really not the time to respond to what he'd said, not with Moon right in front of them.
When Blackfang spoke, she turned a soft gaze towards him, nodding her head in agreement, before turning her gaze back towards Moon. "Can we even trust Sunny?" she spoke calmly, "This male has left us several times since last winter. Shadow chose him to be Delta, but you are the Alpha now, and I would like to know whether or not you trust Sunny." She spoke reasonably, not letting her emotions sway her words.
Waiting for Moon's reply focused Windsinger's attention entirely upon that male for the time being.
Then came a human's shout and an explosion. She recognized that sound. Bullets. The three of them would be killed if she weren't careful.
And even as she thought this, she hurled up the whirling tornado shield that Darkclaw had worked with her on, even though she knew it would only buy them time. She could not keep it whirling for very long, and the moment it stopped whirling, it became useless.
Already, she could feel the drain it was having on her energy. Her body was already beginning to rebel against the strains, but she couldn't stop, or they would all die....
-
Tekai frowned, "I still think we should warn them, but I'm not going to argue. If you want to go find the humans, I'm game for it." he swung his head in the direction of the camp, "They're that way. Not sure how far, though. I only feel a blob of heat surrounding more heat..." He frowned, digging deeper, "I think that the second group of heat is more spread out . . ." there was a growing fear in the back of his mind.
Had the humans really come for the pack?
-
Hado nodded his head happily. He liked fighting, liked sinking his fangs into his prey, liked watching the blood spill across the ground. He would fight and he would enjoy it, he would enjoy taking the life of every wolf he killed...
Hado pricked his ear as a walky-talky nearby crackled, mention isolating two wolves, a male and a female. "Shall I take care of the two they have isolated?" he turned his head back towards Denali, pointedly ignoring Mojag.
