Sesh continued walking alone through the forest, deliberately taking a path that, while leading her towards the camp, wouldn't take her there for quite some time. She wasn't in a hurry to get back; why would she want to? There was nothing for her there, aside from more pain. Pain from Fornae... and pain from Firepaw. Just seeing him still hurt her. He'd betrayed her...
Or had he? She used to be sure that he had done it. There was no doubt that he was the one who had burned her, of course. But had he meant to hurt her? She knew he hadn't. He wouldn't do that. He'd just seen it as his only choice... But it had been a mistake. Or had it? She wasn't sure of anything anymore. What if she would have died without him burning the wound?
Sesh sighed, shaking her head sadly. She didn't know... and there was no way she would ever learn. Still, she couldn't stop the inevitable question running through her head. Did he betray me... or did I betray him?
She stumbled into a tree and winced. She wasn't usually this careless... She needed to bring her mind back to reality. Grimacing, she swept thoughts of Firepaw from her mind. Thinking about him hurt, even. Will I ever stop feeling this way?
Windsinger told me that time heals all wounds. Why, then, does time only seem to open this one more?

SOmething wasnt right. He could feel it. His black and blue eyes looked over at his new companion, FireHeart, wondering if he felt the samething that he did. He didnt seem to...Maybe it was just him, maybe there wasnt anything. He walked a few more paces, then stopped, his talons digging into the soft spring soil. Fireheart walked on. ''Come on, Mokai, we cant stay here long. I just need to see my children once more,'' The older male said as he looked over his firey shoulder at the demonic mokai. But mokai didnt move. ''I think, we should stay in their terra for a while,'' Mokai finally said softly as he looked around uneasily. FireHeart looked at him, surprised. ''Why would er stay here?'' The older male asked. ''S-something isnt right,'' Mokai replied as he looked around again. Fireheart looked around, shrugged and kept waalking, ignoring the younger males worries. He is just paranoid he thought as he walked forward. Once Mokai realized that the older male wasnt going to stop, he walked after him, on edge. A scent drifted to both of their noses. FireHearts ears perked up as he recognized the scent. It was one of his pups, one he had yet to see and speak to. He padded towards the scent with Mokai close behind him.

Sesh looked up suddenly, scenting another wolf nearby. No, two wolves... and one of them she recognized. That crazed loner, Fireheart. She growled softly. That loner who'd actually had the nerve to claim he was Hanala's father while she was injured... He hadn't been around much in the past months, though, and Sesh had been hoping he had left for good. Lunatics were not wolves she wanted around her...
And besides, who was the other wolf? He - she could tell it was a male - smelled... dangerous. Or maybe that wasn't the right word. But now that Sesh thought of it, there seemed to be an underlying scent of danger around now, though she couldn't place what caused it. Everything seemed normal...
She turned and changed her direction, not wanting to run into Fireheart and whatever other lunatic he had picked up. Why couldn't that dumb wolf leave her alone?

Mokai looked at Sesh and nodded to her polietly. His eyes didnt linger on her for very long though. He was soon looking around once more. The fur on his back and along his hackles was raised and his tattered wings were partially opened. FireHeart on the other hand just kept padding closer to Sesh. ''Seshana, i am leaving you, my daughter,'' He said strongly. He hadnt talked to her, but he knew that she had heard of him talking to Hanala and HeartBreeze. Fornae was still unspoken to, but her knew that the young male could live without seeing his father. FireHeart shot Mokai a odd look, and looked around also, wondering what the young male was sensing. He just didnt understand it. With a shake of his head he dissmissed the thought and looked back at Sesh. ''I trust you to keep your brother in line, and to walk in your mothers paw steps. You are just like her, darling,'' He said in a very loving tone to her. He spoke the truth. Sesh was like a perfect image of her mother. He was so very proud of Seshana.

Sesh rounded on him, snarling. "Get away from me!"
She backed away, her stance aggressive, as if she might attack him at any moment. "You're not my father - my father is dead! I don't want to listen to some lying male impersonate him! And stay away from Fornae and Hanala, too - I won't let you poison their minds with your lies!" Sesh was startled by her own ferocity, but didn't show it. This lunatic claimed to be her father, acted like he loved her as his daughter, and had the nerve to try and get her siblings to believe him, too. Sesh growled. She wasn't going to let anyone impersonate her parents, both of whom were dead...

Firepaw slipped away from Breeze and her questioning. He didn't understand why she was asking him this kind of thing - he wasn't leaving the pack. Yet. He would leave the pack sooner or later if this kind of thing went on, but for now, he was enduring. Enduring was the one thing he could do, apparently.
He enjoyed walking alone, really. It was far more enjoyable than speaking of Sesh, and he was sure that was what Breeze meant. She wanted to torment him about this, didn't she?
Though he was fairly sure that she meant Sesh, Firepaw wouldn't have bet anything he couldn't stand to lose on it. Sesh was Sesh. Breeze was Breeze. She might not mean anything by her questions. She was confusing, though. Breeze and Sesh were. His only friends, and his only female friends. An interesting combination, considering just how different they were.
Firepaw padded along, a familiar scent drifting beneath his nose, though he hardly noticed. It was merely that strange loner who swore he was Sesh's father. He wasn't very dangerous - Firepaw was fairly sure that his training with Sharra could counter anything that Fireheart tried to throw at him, despite the fact they controlled the same element.
Firepaw kept walking, his idle thoughts drifting along a painful path. What if he had been wrong in burning her shoulder? He'd stopped the bleeding, yes, and the bleeding would've killed her, but was it worth it? She hated him, but she was still alive. And the fact that she was alive was good, right? Still, he wondered sometimes, especially after that run-in with Sesh.
Speaking of Sesh, her familiar voice drifted towards his ears. Hm. He strained to make out the words, but it wasn't working. He moved closer, his ears pricked forward. A gravelly voice answered her, but Firepaw still struggled to hear the words.
Get away from me! she cried out loudly as Firepaw drew close enough to hear her words.
His fangs came together with an ominous clang. She might be angry with him later, but he wasn't going to let her get hurt...
Firepaw strode forward, orange eyes narrowed fiercely, "You heard her, didn't you?" her other words, about him not being her father weren't the focus of his attention, really, but he did note them. "If you really are her father," Doubt dripped from his words, "You will respect what she says and leave her." Firepaw narrowed his eyes a little further. There was no doubt in his mind.
She might be furious with him for this, but Firepaw wasn't going to let this male hurt her.

FireHeart snorted and looked back over at sesh. ''Take care, Seshana. Let the stars guide you,'' And with that, he began to pad off again. But Mokai, who was standing a few yards away, didnt move. He knew where FireHeart was going. He was going back to the wildlands. No...I will not go back there. Harm will come. Mokai thought silently as he stepped back a few steps, his eyes watching FireHeart. FireHeart looked back at Mokai once, his eyes slightly hurt as he saw the look in Mokai's eyes. The young male wasnt following him again. FireHeart snorted again and kept on walking. A saddened look was on Mokai's face as he watched the older male pad off.

Sesh jumped, startled, as another wolf approached as well. Who-? Oh. Firepaw...
And he was defending her? That seemed so... strange. Strange that he cared enough, even after all this time... Sesh shook herself, ridding herself of those thoughts. She needed to be ready to deal with whatever Fireheart did next...
But he just walked away...
Let the stars guide me? What does that mean? she wondered. She glared after him until he had departed, noticing that he left the other wolf behind. Who was he, anyway? Sesh finally took a good look at him... and had to stifle a gasp of horror. He looked so... evil. Like a monster, almost. Sesh shivered involuntarily, averting her gaze. She didn't want to be near that wolf...
Instead, she turned back to Firepaw. "Firepaw?" she whispered. One word... but it had so much in it. Why? I'm sorry. Do you forgive me? Can we ever be friends again? Why did you betray me? More and more questions whirled through her mind, confusing her. Why do you make me fell this way?

Firepaw narrowed his eyes in Mokai's direction, but he managed to stop from going after that male as well. He might look dangerous, but Firepaw knew danger intimately. Sharra was danger, and she didn't look all that dangerous - at least, he assumed she didn't. He was dangerous, and he didn't look it either. Looks were deceiving. And this male was not dangerous. He was soft, he wouldn't hurt Sesh.
He glanced at Sesh as she spoke, shifting his weight from foot to foot awkwardly. He'd thought when they met again without flying at eachother's throats that it would be like old times again. It wasn't. Mainly because she wasn't talking much, but there was something else beneath it - a tense undercurrent. Firepaw blinked, exhaling heavily.
Everything was going wrong, already. The world was shattering all around him, maybe he should just settle for being friends with Breeze and stop forcing himself on Sesh. Maybe that would be better for her...
"Yeah?" he shook himself, forcing himself to focus on Sesh. Focus, Firepaw, he ordered himself, straightening himself up to his full height and forcing himself to not look uncomfortable. He imagined that it wasn't working, but he was trying that was what mattered.

Mokai looked at the two for a moment, a deep sigh escaping him. Without a word, he turned and headed back in the direction FirePaw had come. His head low, and his eyes saddened. This was life...

Well, at least he wasn't hostile. That was good. But still... Sesh sighed. She didn't know what to say. What could she say? Firepaw had been her best friend... and she had sent him away. Is this all my fault? "Firepaw..." she began again, hesitating. Then it all rushed out in a torrent. "Firepaw, I'm so sorry..." she whispered sadly, a tear trailing down her cheek. She didn't elaborate; she didn't need to. They both knew what she meant...
But how would he respond? Would he forgive her... or would he just laugh and call her a fool? Perhaps that's what I deserve, she thought sadly. She looked at him, her eyes pleading, as she waited for a response...

Firepaw tilted his head as the stranger walked off. Yeah, he'd known that the male wasn't dangerous, though he noted a sense of potential around him. Perhaps if he was introduced to Sharra at some later point, things would change and he could be properly used. Yes, that might work. Still, Firepaw doubted it, and he knew very well that the only reason he was thinking about that was that it was easier than it was to actually think about what Sesh might say.
"Sorry?" he tilted his head. What was she sorry for? He'd deserved every second of punishment he'd gotten from her. "What're you sorry for? If anything, I should be apologizing..." Again. He should've been apologizing again.
Not that she would've listened to him. She'd proved that when they'd fought. Firepaw shivered, tucking his tail against his body. The world could be a dark and scary place, couldn't it?

Sesh shook her head. "I said you'd betrayed me." He remembered. Of course he would. Their argument was probably burned as deeply into his mind as it was into hers. "I was wrong." She sighed, then looked at Firepaw with her earnest green eyes. "I sent you away... you, my best friend. My only friend." At the time, at least. She did have Windsinger now, of course. "I was angry," she admitted. "Angry and scared." Yes, she had been scared. She'd been lost and alone, even though the pack was around her. There hadn't been anyone there for her... "Firepaw... forgive me. Please..." It came out sounding like a desperate plea - which, in a sense, it was. Sesh wasn't sure what she'd do if he didn't...

Firepaw didn't want to let it go yet. He wanted to show her something. She might as well see it, sooner or later, she would. "But I did betray you. I knew you hated fire, and I did anyways." Firepaw blinked slowly, his ears pricking forward. She was apologizing to him. Why was she doing this to him? Was she going to laugh, and retract it, yanking the floor from beneath him?
He looked in her eyes, her beautiful green eyes, and tried to remember why he'd ever thought she'd lie to him. It wasn't working out very well...
He swallowed, "Sesh... I..." What words were there to describe his feelings for her? There were some, he was sure, but they were entirely out of his reach. "I forgive you..." It was the best he could come up with, and they fell flat, considering the occasion.
"How could I not?" he gave a tight smile, glancing at her shyly.

Sesh shook her head. "You did the best thing you could think of. That wasn't betrayal." Ironic, isn't it? I've been blaming him for this the past several months, and the first time I get a chance to talk to him when I'm not angry I start arguing that it's all my fault...
She looked into his eyes hopefully, both looking forward to and dreading what he might say...
I forgive you.
Sesh couldn't stop a smile. She'd been hoping... but she hadn't been sure. But now... now everything could go back to the way it had been before... back when she had been happy. Impulsively, she leaned forward and gave his cheek a quick lick. "Thanks, Firepaw," she murmured softly.
She pulled back quickly, returning his smile. "Are we friends again?"
