Blackfang shook his head. "I think he does hate us, though not individually. It's just the two of us together..." He shrugged. "I doubt he's seen past that hatred, either. Perhaps Matsi made him do it... But yes, I think we can take care of the pack in different ways. Better ways, though, I'm not sure..." He sighed. "That's the problem. I don't know if I deserve it. I'm not a leader. I haven't done anything to earn the position, either, aside from my share of the work. Everyone did that, though. It seems more like he chose me simply because there weren't any other options..."
"I don't know if it does," he replied. "I don't think it affects us that much, but I'm still curious. And, honestly, I do wish he'd get over his anger with us..." He laughed bitterly. "Not likely, though. Still, it just seems strange..."

Shadow turned, his eyes flashing, towards Moon. "You idiot." he snarled. He had more experience dealing with Leo than that fool did, though perhaps he'd had less experience than Matsi, but that it didn't matter.
"Do you want to calm her down?" he narrowed his eyes, "Go on ahead." he snapped his fangs together with an ominous sound, stepping away from Leo.
So, if Matsi was gone, she must be dead... There was a savage pleasure in Shadow's eyes as he realized this. This was her punishment for hiding the survival of his daughter from him, this was her punishment for everything she'd ever done to him, even Dark.
...Especially Dark.
She deserved death. He wasn't going to deny it. Shadow was also glad that she was dead. The Spirit Pack had punished her once and for all, it seemed.
At least when he died he would be able to go somewhere other than where she was, he assumed. Shadow smiled tightly to himself.
This whole thing lasted five moments, in the beginning of Moon's howl, and, reluctantly, Shadow's mournful voice joined Moon's, but beneath that howl was a sense of justice.
He would miss her eventually, but for now, he was glad. She had been punished for lying to him many times over.
-
There was a rustle in the bushes. Opal froze, but when Icepelt cried out her name, he recognized it, and instead of hiding, he walked towards her. She had finally forgiven him, it seemed.
May the Spirit Pack curse Crystal for what she put him through. Opal narrowed his eyes slightly as he glanced upward. A cloud danced across the sun, blowing away an instant later. He inclined his head and darted towards Icepelt, his pelt brushing hers as she whimpered his name.
"Hush..." he soothed, touching her shoulder with his muzzle, "Remember that she still loves you." his voice twisted slightly with pain. It hurt him that she loved this female who had abandoned her far more than she loved him, but he was nothing but her friend.
He shoved that jealousy to the back of his mind and straightened himself up. He was Opalclaw, he wasn't going to be dominated by some pitiful emotion like jealousy. There was no room for jealousy in his heart...
-
Fornae shrugged, "It was her time." Somewhere, he was sad, deep inside himself, he was sure. Mostly, though he was nothing but annoyed. She couldn't have held off a few seconds so he could've talked to her?
He could've apologized, but no, she had to pick right then to die. Fornae narrowed his eyes slightly, "It'll be all right, though, Tipony. We have a leader, Moon, we have betas. It isn't like the pack is in shambles. We shall mourn for her, but we shall go on." Noble words, weren't they? Only one small problem - he didn't really care.
Things were going wrong all around him, and he couldn't bring himself to care. It was stupid that they should care, really. Matsi was gone, she had some perfect life off in the stars with no responsibilities or hunger or anything like that.
She could go off and be happy, but the rest of them had to fight for their lives. Still.
She could've at least pretended she cared...
-
Firepaw glowered at the ground. If it weren't for the fact that he was afraid to alienate his only remaining friend, he would've snapped at her, but he found it somewhere within himself to breathe in and out until he found civil words.
"Yes, Breeze?" he asked gruffly, but there was a more gentle undercurrent to his words. He enjoyed her company, and was glad he'd managed to earn her friendship in those days when he'd been lost, set adrift and entirely alone.
She had taken pity and spoken to him, gentle words. They'd been friends ever since then, even though Firepaw was still hurt and sad. She'd taken him just the way he was, imperfect, and been friends with him for he was, instead of hating him for who he wasn't.
That was more than he could say about Sesh, anyways...
-
Tekai nodded his head vaguely, though he wasn't all that hungry. Idly, he began to gnaw on the deer's hoof. He just needed a distraction from the feelings that swirled inside himself. "I will save some for them." he spoke quietly, inclining his head and moving on to the deer's haunches, jolting slightly as Hanala headbutted him.
He regained his balance rapidly, however, and, to cover his embarrassment, he began to gnaw on the deer's haunches.
-
Windsinger shrugged, "There isn't much of a difference. Whether he hates both of us together, or he hates you, or he hates me, it doesn't matter. We're still together, and if he hates one part of us, he hates the whole." she shook herself, her fur fluffing out slightly before she went on, "Perhaps there were no more options. Perhaps he chose you because you were the best there was. But you might as well consider that it is possible that he chose you for two reasons. A combination of the two I just mentioned. That is the most likely option."
Windsinger laughed, "He'll get over it sooner or later. If he doesn't get over it, though," she flexed her claws and bared her fangs very slightly, "I'll make him get over it. I'm tired of him alienating you. He'll push me past my limit soon." Alpha or not, he was her brother, and she knew him even better than Matsi had.

"True enough," admitted Blackfang. It was really second nature now to think of himself and Windsinger as no longer separate now. He'd gotten used to that over the past few months... and he still couldn't believe how lucky he was. "You're probably right." He gave her cheek an affectionate lick.
He grinned. "You know, you might be taking the sibling relationship a bit far... But maybe that's a good thing. Besides, if he doesn't get over it, there isn't anything he can do to us. He doesn't even have any authority now. Sure, he can give advice, but that's all. In fact," Blackfang smiled, contemplating the irony of his thought, "We outrank him now..."

Moon's howl echoed for many moments before he finally silenced. He looked at his sister once more, and turned to walk away. He would let leo cool down before he decided what to do with his sister's body... _____________ Icepelt shoved her nose into Opal's pelt, taking in his scent, hoping to calm her sorrow. ''Dont leave me...'' She muttered softly, for some reasons, those words were the only ones she could find. ''Please, dont ever leave me...I need you,'' She sobbed softly, her face still burried in his golden shoulder. Her body shivered slightly with her raging emotions. ____________________ Breeze was having problem finding her words still, but she decided to wing it. ''Soo...do you have any idea who you are going to take by your side, before you take the pack?'' She asked as she lowered her eyes. She played in the dirt with one claw, making swirls in the soil and chasing small insects as she waited for his answer. Her thoughts were jumbled and she wondered if she was making the right choice by asking this now, or if she should have waited to as this... ______________ Dark didnt move from his spot by the den. RiverDancer was now half standing on him, looking over him towards the pack. Dark's crimson eyes watched all that was going on, but he did not join in the howl. He only watched. The fur on his back prickled and stood on end, but that was all. ''Daddy, who was that?'' RiverDancer asked softly as she looked at Matsi's body. ''That was the Elder of the pack,'' He said softly, saddened, but he knew it was just a part of life. ''Is she gonna be happy up there daddy?'' the pup asked as she watched the blue fire vanish in the sky. ''Yes, darlin' '' Dark replied with a nod. _______________ Tipony sighed. ''Life will go on,'' She said softly as she looked around. She walked back to fornae and sat next to him once more, not knowing what to do or where to go. She was suddenly tired, but she didnt understand why. She had no reason to be...It was spring now....

Hanala laughed. "Good..." she said, lost in her thoughts suddenly. She thought of when she used to tell her siblings everything. Always played with them and new what they were thinking. Now they were...almost strangers. She frowned as she continued eating, but soon she was eating air. She blinked and bit into the stomach, going back into thought. She wished she could spend time with everyone, but that seemed nearly impossible...

Leo sat there crying she didn't even really hear Shadow talk to her. She was crying at what had just happened. Leo picked up the howl after Moon stopped with her howl came some fire; her pain and anger was too much. She stayed there she didn't need anyone to calm her down, /not like any of ya'll can calm me down./ She laid down next to Matsi she only wanted Matsi or Shepard back. Quietly Leo cried, she started to fall asleep there. The cool of Matsi calming down the heat of her body.

Firepaw, out of it as he was, was jolted back to earth by Breeze's words. He'd been enjoying a nice little daydream where he'd ripped Sunny's throat and also managed to injure his father in the process. It was a lovely daydream, and Firepaw was vaguely annoyed that Breeze had interrupted it, but since that run-in with Sesh, he'd worked on controlling his emotions enough that his annoyance didn't show on his face.
Besides, he valued Breeze as a friend. Now was not the time to call her out on interrupting a daydream she had no way of knowing he was having. "Eh?" he questioned, tilting his head. "A female in mind? To take by my side? Uh, not really. I haven't actually been considering leaving the pack." Though he had to admit, it was a fairly good idea.
So he said that. "Pretty good idea though, Breeze." Firepaw smiled, flicking his tailtip against her shoulder. Yes, he'd gotten better about relating with others. He'd gotten more mature after that fight with Sesh. He was determined to prove himself to her, but recently, she'd been popping up less and less. He was getting a lot better at forgetting her.
After all, she'd never be friends with him again. It wasn't worth mourning her - clearly, she'd never been worth it in the first place. Not if she hated him for saving her life. Firepaw sighed to himself - no matter what he said about her, he couldn't deny that he felt lost without her.
He glanced at the shapes she traced in the dirt, and mirrored the movement, almost unconsciously. It wasn't new for him to be awkward around her - they'd never have that easy friendship that he and Sesh had had, but Breeze was still the only wolf who would talk to him, and a friendship had been carefully groomed from an awkward acquaintance-ship. It was better than nothing, really.

''Not what i meant...but...'' She shrugged it off and stood up. Yes, she would wait to carry on the questions. Now was a time to enjoy the warming weather and the plentaful food. She shook her fiery pelt and a plume of smoke erupted from her nose as she let out a sigh that relieved her mind of all her worries. All she had to remember was how lucky they were to still be alive. Yes, lucky they were. Others, no, not so lucky. When she looked back up, though...She was dissapointed. He was gone. She sighed again and sat back on her haunches. A sound behind her made her turn around. She lept back, startled. A large black male with red facial markings, black and blue eyes, talon paws, and torn demonic wings...Not a pleasent sight for Breeze. But, to much of her surprise, the brute seemed just as surprised.

Luna stood at the foot of a tree, everything around her seemed to be slow, the alpha female was gone.. Well she wasn’t alpha anymore but she hated hearing that someone died. She just couldn’t stand it, how could someone like her be gone? She made everyone happy. She shook her head, she didn’t want to hear this anymore. Luna turned and walked, she could find Becky now. She would probably be at their favorite tree, curled up on her branch. Luna just needed to see her smile at her, everything would be better after she saw Becky.
Becky was at the tree, sitting on the tallest branch that she could get to. She didn’t know what was going on, she didn’t know that Matsi died. Becky had her eyes closed, thinking of Luna. Luna couldn’t stay with her forever she needed a mom or at least a dad. Becky was hoping she could find someone to take Luna in, Luna was still a pup and so far her life have been tough, she had to learn things and she knew herself was just a sister figure to her not a mother. Becky opened her eyes and breathed out jumping down.

Opal snorted to himself. "I had no intention of leaving you in the first place." he replied, "I was just going to stop bothering you." He flicked his tailtip to touch her shoulder, his eyes widening slightly. He wasn't equipped to deal with this - a sobbing female, no matter how good friends they were. He knew Ice well, but that didn't mean that he knew how to deal with her. It had been moons since he'd seen her last, really, and had a good conversation.

Ice sighed heavily, her face still pressed into his pelt. She didnt want to move, she couldnt move, she wouldnt move unless he made her. ''You dont need to worry about bothering me,'' She said with a small laugh, still not moving. Her golden eyes were closed. ------- Sunny was still furious. How could HIS daughter be talking to a cave pack pup? He snorted in disgust as he looked down at Callan. ''You will not leave the pack site,'' He said strongly as he walked, leading her towards the main camp.

Becky heard something moving inn the brush only to be relaxed to find that it was only Luna. “Hello Luna, how was your morning?” She asked kindly stretching before prancing over as if the whole break down that she had mentally had never happened. Her smile faded as she noticed Luna’s tear filled eyes stareing back at her. She tried to think of something to say but before she could say anything the simple words, “are you alright?” escaped her maw.

Windsinger - Windsinger grinned, "I am most of the time, though, so it's not really a surprise, is it?" she chuckled to herself, making the fact that it was a joke fairly obvious, to her mind, anyways, as she leaned into his lick. She really did love him - meeting Blackfang had been one of the better things that had happened to her.
She still missed Darkclaw, but when she was with Blackfang, she could forget Darkclaw, if only for a short time.
Windsinger smiled, "You're right, we do." she took a small amount of pleasure from that, but mostly, she was just happy that he couldn't bother her anymore with his high-and-mighty attitude. He wasn't high and mighty anymore, so that wasn't really an issue. "Well, there's something good that came out of that, huh?"
-
Tekai - Tekai could feel the awkward silence in the air, but he didn't really mind. He didn't feel like talking, so silence was fine with him, no matter how awkward it was. He could live in silence, without talking. That wasn't so bad, really. Silence was pretty. It really was . . .
Okay, his thoughts were rambling. Not a good sign. Tekai shook himself and turned his head towards Hanala, his crimson gaze focused her as she ate.
-
Fornae - Fornae nodded. Life would go on, he was certain. He wasn't happy about it, but it would. He was tired of life, tired of getting hurt, and of hurting others. He'd nearly killed Sunny, he could hurt someone else if he wasn't careful, and he even if he couldn't run quickly, or fight as well as other wolves, he was still dangerous.
And he hated being dangerous, really. It made him feel . . . ugly, not that anyone cared. No one really cared about him, other than Sesh, Hanna, and Tipony. The first two cared about them because they were supposed to, and Tipony? He wasn't sure about Tipony. Tipony was confusing.
"Life will go on." he echoed, nodding his head. Life would go on. He clung to that fact, and that was how he went on.
-
Callan - Cal shrugged, "Whatever." she rolled her eyes. He couldn't control her. She was reckless, fierce, fast, passionate. All those things, and more. Cal grinned to herself at the thought, prancing forward. She was eager to meet the legendary Firepaw, and his nasty temper. That was going to be fun - she could provoke him, and see how he reacted! Plus, it would be fun to anger her father as well! The Frost Pack was going to give her so much fun!
She skipped lightly forward, "Are we almost there yet, Sunny?" She refrained from calling him Father or Dad, she had ever since her mother's death. Cal snorted to herself, shaking her head. Now was not the time to think about it, really.
-
Opal - Opal shrugged. "I might not need to, but I do it anyways." Because you're my friend, see, and I take care of my friends, even when I'm dying. These thoughts, however, remained unspoken, ever thoughts, ever forgotten. He wanted her to be more than just his friend, but he wasn't going to do this to her. It had happened to him, once, and he wasn't going to put her through it. She was his friend, and that was that. Nothing more, nothing less. He had to be grateful for that, didn't he? But he couldn't help but want more...
-
Shadow - Shadow stalked out of the clearing. It was done and past. Matsi was dead and gone, and Dark had another partner. He could live with that. Just if Sahara were dead, it would be perfect. Then the Spirit Pack would have punished almost everyone who had ever wronged him, and the other two out of the other three were already punished. The last one could live without it. He couldn't expect the Spirit Pack to cater to his every need, however, they had punished those who had hurt him. Most of them. And he was thankful for that.
And as he walked, he noted the appearance of a delicate white female at his side, coming as if from nowhere. "Hello." he greeted her, dipping his head.
-
Crystal - Crystal grinned, swooping down behind Shadow as he left the clearing. Perfect. She did glower up at the stars as she landed, however. Coal didn't want her to kill Shadow yet, saying something about a wolf named Denali killing him and punishing him more than she could do. Crystal could accept that, she thought, as she paced up to stand beside Shadow, waiting for him to notice her as they walked.
Shadow greeted her. She grinned. This was going to be perfect. "Hello. I'm Crystal. Crystal SilverClaw, actually. It's nice to meet you, Shadow, formerly Shadowfang." She was showing of her knowledge. She couldn't help it. She couldn't kill him, so she would punish him.

Tipony sighed. ''Shall we walk?'' She asked Fornae with a small glance. the tip of her tail wagged slightly as she looked at him. She wondered if he would really want to move or not... _____ Sunny snarled slightly. ''Here,'' He said as he pushed a bush back and revieled the clearing where most of the pack still stood. He took in the scent, a welcoming thing to him. He looked around. He wondered where certain members of the pack were. _______ IcePelt laughed slightly. ''Opal, all i need is you, so you dont need to worry about bothering me,'' She said softly as she finally leaned back and looked at him with her glittering orange eyes. Her white ear was still back slightly, but she looked happier. ___________ Mokai sat on the edge of the main camp, watching. He was content on just watching, as long as no one lept at him. Yes. What a pack. How great would it be... But his thoughts cut off as he looked from pack member to packmember. He began trying to figure out who was what rank, testing his knowlage.

Blackfang laughed. "Yeah, you generally are. It's annoying sometimes," he joked. But it was true - Windsinger did tend to be right. She just thought things through a bit more than most. Though it wasn't actually annoying, of course. If anything, it was helpful, and definitely a good trait for a Beta to have...
He nodded. "I don't mind being a Beta, anyway. I just wasn't expecting it. I think we'll do well, though..." Both he and Windsinger were some of the better fighters in the pack, after all. Windsinger was the healer, as well, and both of them were good at looking at all sides of an issue - Windsinger more so. All of those were good qualities for leaders...
So why do I feel uneasy? he wondered. Then he shrugged. It was probably just a lingering after-affect of the surprise of being promoted. "Should we go talk to Moon?" he asked. After all, as the new Alpha, Moon might want to change some things, or assign different roles or something. Besides, they should show they supported him as the new leader and all that...
