Alphess:
Our roleplay takes place in a highly matriarchal society, and the pack is completely dominated by the Alphess, and she is the one who performs rituals, and leads the pack to new hunting grounds, and the things like that. This Alphess dominates the pack in all ways, and typically does most of the leading, though the more mundane tasks are generally left to the Betas and to the Alpha.
Alpha:
In this matriarchal society, typically the Alpha is the Alphess' mate, however, he could be any wolf close to the Alphess, a brother, for example, and the Alpha would preside over the pack in the more mundane matters that the Alphess could not be bothered with, such as petty arguments with other wolves. However, the Alpha's expertise is trusted by both the pack and by the Alphess, and they are the ones that would pick up the slack if, for any reason, the Alphess would not be able to lead the pack.
Beta Female:
In this matriarchal society, the Beta Female does the majority of the grunt work, arranging hunting parties, or scouting parties, or the like, many of these things that the busy Alpha Female has no time for. The Beta Female is typically what makes a pack work.
Beta Male:
In the highly matriarchal society of our roleplay, the Beta Male is like the second-in-command's second in command, typically he is the Beta Female's mate, though that may vary, but he always has earned the Beta Female's trust, unless, of course, there is no Beta Female. Should this be the case, it is the Beta Male who would do the work that is expected of both the Beta Female and of the Beta Male.
Delta:
The Delta is the wolf that will replace the Beta when he or she changes rankings for any reason, or is unable to fulfill their job as a Beta, and that is when the Delta steps in. The Delta can be male or female, however, should there be two betas, and one of them can no longer fulfill their duties, it is the other beta who would step in, not the Delta.
Midranks:
These are the pack members, the ones who have no claim to fame at all, however, it is the position that is most sought out, for no responsibility comes with this position, and therefore, it is the easiest position to fill.
Omega:
The Omega(s) are the characters who are most submissive - they have no true rank, after all, and have become Omegas because they either did something wrong, or because, quite simply, their personality was well designed for becoming Omega.
