Griffins, the sign of power, loyalty, prosparity and freedom. But in the land of Crone, the griffin is feared by many, and the mighty beast is often killed, along with its rider. Can the riders of these mighty beasts convince all that the Griffin is to be trusted, not killed? Can the riders even trust eachother to take on this challenge? Only time will tell.
Crone is a mighty contenent that is mainly forests and grass lands. Crone is divided into four kingdoms. Gem Kingdom is in the south, and is the land of gold, and a kinder land. In the North, Darth, the land of gems and harsh tempered people. The East, Tukin, the land of the Woodland elves and hidden knowlage, and in the west, Barson, the land of the Vampires and murder. In the center of it all, a nomans land that is a thin forest land with some open plains.

Roseibelle, (roe-say-belle) stood, looking up at the sky. Her purpleish eyes seemed to be focused on the slowly moving clouds that hoovered over the no-mans land. The young, 21 year old elf seemed to be waiting for something. Her green and gold clothing was still clean and neat looking, dispite the miles and miles of her travel. Rose, as she was often called by her clan mates, was now a loner, and only for one reason. She had a griffin. A shadow danced over her blonde hair as she looked around for a moment. She looked back up, her eyes landing on her flying beast. ''Alec,'' She called, her eyes following her golden beast slowly. He landed swiftly, and folded his dark gold wings. His hawk like head was held high as he looked at his elven companion. ''Yes, Rose?'' He asked softly in his beast voice. Rose didnt say anything. She only smiled at the Griffin.

JakarSlovanThey were known as Dusk Elves, those half vampire creatures that were shunned by all. They were the children of the elven lords and ladies (and the ordinary elven people) and the vampires. They were rare enough, not very common due to the hatred between the races, but the occasional child of both races was born. Slovan was a prime example of a Dusk Elf, with pitch black hair, and a slender, but muscular build with the dark green eyes with catlike pupils and sharply pointed ears, that marked him as both vampire and elf. His clothing was the uniform of a soldier of an ancient elven king, and it was comfortable and well worn, with the occasional elaborate swirl in that king's colors, with patches here and there, revealing its age. The leather gloves he wore protected him from Jakar's sharp beak, and the two swords he wore at his side were plain and undecorated, as were the sheaths that hid contained them. He didn't look like much of anything, just a vagabond that had stolen some swords and a uniform and masqueraded as a soldier. In truth, the uniform had been his grandfather's, and the swords had been his father's. Still, the large, dark griffin, battle scarred that stood at his back protected him from being accused of thievery often enough, and those that were foolish enough to accuse him were soon nothing but memories. Jakar did not take kindly to those who insulted his rider's honor, and the savage look in the griffin's dark eyes often scared people off before they bothered to accuse Slovan of thievery. His entire body was a dark brown, darker than any other griffin they'd ever seen, except for his father, who had been pure black, except for the white that claimed his tail tip, and his beak, which was still darker than any normal (if there was such thing as a normal griffin anymore) griffin's beak. The feathers on his body faded seamlessly to fur on his lower body, and a saddle claimed a good portion of his back for Slovan to sit upon. Together they soared through the sky, scaring children and parents with the fierce sounds that escaped Jakar's beak at times, sounds that Slovan found greatly entertaining. Now, though, they were both grounded, standing side by side near a gurgling creek, both examining the place a deer had been seconds before. Something had scared it - a distant thump that sounded like the landing of something airborne - either that, or it had been a tree branch falling. Either way, they were going to find out together. Without a word to the other, Slovan began to move quietly forward, his hand resting on the hilt of a sword, and his bare feet moving soundlessly across the ground. Behind him, Jakar wasn't as lucky, but he moved surprisingly quietly for such a large beast, and together, they moved towards where the sounds had originated from. "Someone intrudes." Jakar rasped in his rough voice, "Someone intrudes upon our land..." He raised his voice towards the end, hissing out the words loud enough that those who had intruded could hear him.

Alec's eyes were focused on divide of two small hills that led towards the river. ''Rose-'' ''I know Alec, i heard it too,'' Rose stopped him mid sentence and looked over towards that area too. Her Purple eyes were slightly strong looking as she waited, wondering who it could be. ''Who walks towards Roseibelle, rider of Alec?'' She called out, waiting. She slid closer to Alec and grabbed her sword that was hidden in a holster under his wing. Its silver blade was engraved with elven words that said ''Hidden rider'' and the hilt was a glittering purple with peices of amithest stone. Alec stood back on his hind legs and let out a small call to the other one. It was not a angered call, just curious.

Jakar hissed furiously as the other griffin called in his direction. "Why, I'll kill him! He thinks he can just waltz onto my territory and go off gallivanting around like he owns the place? I'll murder himmmm!" his voice drew the 'him' out so far that Jakar's voice extended for several seconds before Slovan whacked him lightly on the beak, recoiling before the griffin had time to close his beak on the space where the Dusk Elf's fingers had been.
"Can it, Jakar." Slovan scolded. "I really don't feel like getting killed, thanks. And I have a feeling that any elf stupid enough to end up here has a griffin." he commented.
Jakar hissed, "That's what I was talking about! There is a griffin here. It is a griffin pair here."
"Oh, great." sarcasm dripped from Slovan's voice. "You've really got us in a mess now, Jakar."
"Shut up, Slovan." Jakar hissed furiously.
Slovan rolled his eyes, walking quietly and calmly forward, "I am Slovan, and this is Jakar." he glanced back at Jakar, who reluctantly stepped forward.
Griffin and rider, they stared challengingly at the other pair, Slovan's hands resting lightly on a sword hilt, and Jakar's eyes flashing with anger.
"They trespass. We should kill them."
Slovan rolled his eyes, "What you lack in tact, you make up for in pure brawn. You idiot, shut up."
They locked a lot less dangerous now, bickering like a married couple as they were.

Roseibelle seemed to relax slightly. It is just ones like us, She thought with a slight sigh. Yes, that was alot better than she was expecting. She drove the tip of her sword into the soil and leaned on it, tired from travel and not caring enough to hold it at the moment. Alec was still a little ridged, but his ears were up in a slowly calming manor. ''It is a honor to meet another griffin rider like myself.'' Rose said with a small and polite nod to both of them. She then motioned back to Alec. ''That is Alec,'' She introduced her golden beast, who nodded to the pair slightly.

"An honor?" Slovan jerked his head up with a snicker in his voice, "It sounds more like a danger than an honor--"
His mouth snapped shut as Jakar slunk into the clearing, looking dangerous as ever as he flared his wings. "Jakar." he introduced himself, hissing indignantly.
"And I'm Slovan, Dusk Elf." he introduced himself coolly, his eyes narrowing, "And Jakar." he added, even though the griffin had already introduced himself.
The black griffin snickered indulgently, butting his head into his rider's shoulder. Yes, they had a rocky relationship, but they loved each other. That was hard for some to grasp, but as Slovan leaned back and ran his fingers through Jakar's feathers, he smiled at his griffin.

Rose smiled at Slovar's comment. ''In any land but nomans land, yes, it would be dangerous. But here, i see it as a very welcoming sight,'' She said with a nod. Alec sat behind her, his golden-green eyes watching the other rider and griffin pair with much intrest and stiffness. He wasnt too concerned about the safty of his rider...yet. If they so much moved towards her, he would let his voice be heard...
