The final group of helicopters continued towards the cliffs, landing themselves near the top of a rocky plateau. Human troops in heavy camouflage armor rushed out, guns and flamethrowers ready. They saw no immediate attackers, however, and proceeded to establish a quick perimeter and base camp from which they could begin attacks in the region. Having done this, they remained at their stations and awaited orders from their commander...

A burly gray male strode calmly forward. He cast a calm glance over the humans, nodding his head. He hadn't quite ended up with the lion's share of the humans, but it wasn't that bad. He had enough to take down all of the loners who thought it would be a bright idea to take him on.
He was Hado, and he was dangerous. Green eyes narrowed slightly as Hado swept his tail in delight, the ground beneath his feet glowing green. Hado sighed in disgust. Earth powers did not make him look strong, in fact, they made him look weaker. However, anyone who called him weak found themselves dead, human or wolf. Hado laughed to himself in delight.
A bush rustled.
Hado jumped, swinging his head to the side, a scent drifting under his nose. He jerked his head towards the bush, and humans shifted themselves to point various tranquilizer guns, as well as several machine guns.
A rabbit plunged through the bushes, followed by a fire-y colored female, who moved stiffly, as if haunted by arthritis, something he heard affected humans.
She jolted upon spotting the humans, who still hadn't fired. They were waiting for Hado's command, actually. "My sense of smell must be going in my old age." she commented idly as Hado flicked his tail.
"Yes, it must be." then a bullet tore for her, and she didn't have time to dodge. It hit her right in the chest, and there was a spray of blood. Hado watched coldly, dipping his head towards the humans and pacing forward.
"What do you control?" he tilted his head, examining her.
She coughed. "Why should I tell you? I'm dying anyways. But, if you must know, I control sunlight. It's not going to save me, though, is it?" Wicca examined Hado.
Hado snorted, "No, it won't." and then he walked away, back towards the humans.
One of them scooped up her body, even as she continued to twitch, and deposited on the ground beside the helicopter. She would be dissected later - now they would watch.

FireHeart padded through the cliffs, tired, but still annoyed. Why had that younger male not followed him? He thought he had finally had a companion, atleast until he died. Apparently not. Sounds drifted to his orange and red ears as he kept padding forward. Odd...that sound is familiar. he thought as he kept padding. Then he froze. Humans...everywhere. He stepped back, surprised. Mokai was right...there was something terribly wrong. His eyes drifted to one wolf, and he snarled. How could one of their own kind betray them like this? ''What the hell have you done?'' FireHeart snapped as his claws dug into the soil. Now he really wished that mokai was with him. He didnt know if he could take the other wolf at his age. His eyes drifted to the humans. Those must be the scientists the others had seen. His eyes drifted back to Hado. ''You are a betrayer,'' He snarled as his head lowered and his fangs bared. He didnt want to use his fire, but he would if he needed to...

The plants carried a warning to him. A smile cracked across Hado's face - "Excellent, excellent." he growled in a gravelly voice, baring his fangs, and gesturing for the humans to back up some, giving him more room to maneuver.
Behind him, Wicca was dying. She gave a final, heroic effort, a spurt of sunlight, concentrated into a rope that would go around his neck, but there was a bang. Another bullet sped forward, hitting her skull this time. Blood spattered everywhere, and some of it reached Hado, who looked even more dangerous with blood spattered in his pelt as the male arrived.
Hado grinned as the wolf spoke, "Isn't it obvious? I've killed most every wolf in this area, and you are lucky you haven't been killed yet - however, I'm here to remedy that problem." Hado pricked his ear forward, taking a single step as he did so.
A sign.
One of the men took aim, and a bullet exploded forward, hitting the other male's foot. Hado grinned, "However, I want to have some fun with you first. Your dying will be slower and more painful than that female's."
He noted the forward stance of the male, who looked as if he were preparing to attack, "And don't even think about attacking me. There are humans here who would shoot you in a heartbeat, even if they had to shoot through me." he grinned, not commenting on the whole 'you are a betrayer' part.
The way he saw it, he was merely supporting the stronger half of the equation. That wasn't so bad, was it?

FireHeart let out a yelp as he lept back with pain. He looked at his paw, the blood stinging his nose and the pain burning up his leg. He raised his head and snarled. No, he wouldnt back off. No, he wouldnt run. He had a family back in the frost pack area to protect. Three daughters, who could carry the future, and one brave son that could lead a pack. Yes, he had a reason to fight and a reason to stand tall. With a erupting snarl, fire exploded around FireHeart and a short and strong howl erupted from his chest. The howl echoed long after he lowered his head to glare at the other wolf. ''Lets do this the old fashion way,'' He snarled as he began to circle. He was calm, not afraid. Yes, he knew he was going to die. There was no doubt in his mind, but he didnt care. He was done with his searching. He was through breeding lone females. He was through with it all. But he knew he would be damned if he didnt try to protect his four pups and their new family. Yes, this was his last chapter, the last battle.

Flames exploded, and in that moment when the wolf was blinded, the humans shifted their positions, so that now bullets were pointed at Fireheart. Hado wasn't going to tranq him - bullets would be far better.
Fireheart began to circle him. The humans were ready now, "Do it the old fashioned way? Why would I do that when I can just have you shot?" he tilted his head, honestly curious. "I mean, is this all about your pride? That is pitiful. I'm not going to fight you. It would be a waste of time - you're just going to die. I don't feel like dealing with you."
The humans stood stock still, all the guns in the clearing were pointed at Fireheart. "Say goodbye to life." Hado was going to give him a few seconds. That was all. There was a click as the guns were loaded and prepared for firing. There wasn't much time.
Hado grinned, sliding back a subtle step so that he wasn't going to be in the way as they fired. He didn't fancy being killed, really.

FireHeart knew it was coming, but he wasnt going to loose hope, or stop moving until death took him completely. He lunged at Hado, fangs flashing and fire blazing. A snarl unlike anyother he had created echoed in his maw. His mind raced as he lunged, memoried flashed through his mind. The meeting of his firstpartner, the birth of HeartBreeze, The death of EarthBreeze, the meeting of his second partner, and the second sepperation. But the memory that gave him the anger and pride was the sight of his grown pups, alive and thriving. Yes, those were the memories he wanted to die with.

Hado jumped sideways. There was another, more ominous click. And then there was an explosion. Bullets flew all around him, seeking their mark unerringly. Fireheart was in the center of a maelstrom of bullets, all of them hitting his skin at once, riddling it with bullets.
Fireheart was going to die. Hado laughed, an eerie sound in the sudden silence. Not even the eagle screeched far above their heads. The sounds of bullets had scared every nearby creature into submission.
Hado smiled. This was why he fought with humans, so that he could dominate others with little effort on his own part. Yes, he was submissive to Denali, and to the human leader, but that was it. And compared to his life in a wolf pack, it was amazing.

FireHeart let out a yelp, fell, but still moved. He could feel it all leaving him. He tried to stand again. He glared at the other male, haterd. He then smiled slightly. He wasnt going to let his body benifit these beasts. No, he wouldnt help them in anyway. He closed his eyes, and a huge blaze erupted around him. He then fell dead, but the fire still burned, eating at his body until nothing but ash would be left. Yes, that was the death he wanted.

Trio awoke and stood shakily. He nudged Tawney but she didn't wake. He saw a humans hand by the small cage he was stuck in and ran towards it. He reached out and snapped his fingers. The man howled and moved as his fingers bled. He grabbed a bone and chucked it into the cage. Trio pounced on it and took it in his teeth, going to lay besides Tawney. He gnawed on the bones, etchings and strange pictures forming on the bone. His teeth carved away the bone delicatley, and he liked the strange taste. He dropped the bone and placed his paw on it. Its carvings and scratches told a story even he didn't know, and it startled him that he could understand it. His voice was still pupish, so it squeaked when he spoke.
'long ago, a large black wolf ruled over a section of rock known as Conto. The wolf was called Kindel Slave, for he burned and kept many slaves.'
the pup read on the bone.

Trio stopped suddenly when the story changed. It made him quiver in fear, even though he didn't understand the words.
'Ther'll be a wolf with a sweet kind heart but a mind of pure evil. She couldn't help being taken over by her grief and anger. She is white with large purple wings, and looking to destroy her two fathers. Make it quick, make it painless. Then she would go on like nothing. But a battle to the death is what she'll get, and needs to be freed from her deadly prison. For if she continues with her powers of good and evil, all three will surely die.'
Then it ended. A long pause followed by one word.

The human tossed another bone in, and Trio waited for the urge to chew it. It never came. He padded over to a corner as Ash swirled around him. It burned all of the leftovers of the bone, and he lay down. He put his teeth to it, and randomly chewed on it, thinking about Tawny and mommy and where he was. He was really hungry but didn't know where Indigo was. When he released his teeth, he looked around and cried, "Mamma!" he saw Tawney wake up and hobbled over to her. He nudged her. Then he spread his wings to cover her from the stinky smelling animals all around them. "Cover yourself in mist" he told her, scratching his ear. She listened and he went back to the bone. He chewed some more and looked. It was sort of scratched up and destroyed. /So its only when I feel the urge to chew on them that they tell me stories/ he thought to himself. He grabbed the older bone and put it in the corner. He would also protect any more story bones he got and made. He didn't know or care how he could do it, he just knew the bones were special. He looked at the bone and read one word gnawed into the white surrface. "Beware" He flinched and burned the bone with ash until it was a small pile of soot, kicking it out of the cage. He had heard mamma use the word beware when talking about something bad. He went to stand near the shimmering mist circling his sister. He nudged her. "We need to find mamma. I'm hungry" he said and sighed, lying down.
