Denali paced in the small space available to him in the helicopter. How he hated flying in these things... But it was necessary, as the humans under his command couldn't fly at all. Besides, they'd reach their destination soon, and he'd be out out of here...
The plan was simple. The area around the pack had already been encircled; they wouldn't be able to escape. Denali was going in to finish them off... However, there was a lot of territory, and it was best to cover it in sections. So the strike force would be split into three teams, with the greater one lead by himself, and the other two led by two other wolves known as Mojag and Hado.
Denali wasn't sure about the new wolves; something about them seemed strange. But they were dedicated enough that there was no chance of betrayal, and that was what mattered. If they got themselves killed... well, they were replaceable.
The helicopters landed in a clearing beside a roaring waterfall and began disgorging their troops. Denali exited, as well, surveying his portion of the strike team. Almost 100 humans, all heavily armed and well-trained. And more were standing by if needed...
He walked over to the human who was nominally in charge here, though everyone knew that Denali was actually leading. Still, most of the humans couldn't understand him well, so he needed an interpreter...
Through a series of quick gestures and barks he conveyed his instructions to the human, who nodded, then turned and grabbed a radio. "Fly Hado and his group farther along; land them near those cliffs. Drop Mojag and the rest in the wild lands in between. We'll secure this area."
Denali nodded, satisfied the human had conveyed his instructions accurately. He watched as several of the helicopters that hadn't landed turned and flew away in the directions he had ordered.
He turned back to his troops, indicating that they were to spread out and search the area. Then he loped out of camp, following his own instructions. He wasn't letting anyone escape this time...
