((this is where Dark MoonLightning and Sahara ''sand'' are interacting. THe two, though they are not mates, are expecting pups.)) ooc: ((Added by Knight)) Also, this takes place a little bit after the current plot, the snowstorm, so the pups will not be introduced for a while, not until our snowstorm is over... *pokes Garrett* Attachments:

Three dark black and one white paw lightly pad against the ground as the large male paces around the enterance of the den. His black body was fluffed to full size, and the yingyang on his chest looked like nothing more than a swirl of white on a black canvas. HIs bat wings were spread, his black one out, parallel with the ground, and his black-veined white one, tip dragging through the snow. His crimson eyes were anxious and worried. He looked to the den enterance and sighed, sticking his head in with a warm look to Sahara. He said nothing, for he had nothing to say. HE just hoped that they, Sahara and the pups, would be alright in the end. As sick as it sounds, he would give up the life of all the pups, aslong as Sahara were to live atleast through this. He knew from past experiance, that this was going to be the hardest day of her life, and guilt raged through him for it. It was his fault...But there was no use in being guilty now...He had to stand strong now...For her...For his new family.

She was curled on her side, her back to Dark, though she knew he was there. "Just come on in here, you fool" Sahara snorted loudly, "It's no use cowering out there in the cold, at least it's warm in . . . here..." Sahara yawned widely, "Unfortunately." Sahara flicked her ears lazily as she examined the two pups, one little black and white one, whom she'd named Daharro, he was the crazy one, flailing about, even now, kicking his sister in the face ocasionally. She didn't want to get involved in the scuffle, though, not when it was quite likely that they would die before the day passed. Might as well not get too attached them, though she did scoot the little grey female, named RiverDancer, with little bluish spots beneath her eyes a little bit closer to her stomach. She'd been right when she'd said pups were ugly, they were, they had faces only a mother could love...
outofcoke;; Terrible, terrible, but stop bugging me Matsi...

Dark slid his massive body into the den and placed his head on Sahara's withers, looking down at the two pups. His ears went back and his heart swelled. He lightly put his nose down to touch noses with the little grey female, Riverdancer. Her nose wrinkled sligtly with shock of cold from her father's touch, but she soon relaxed and squeaked. Dark sighed again and licked Sahara's face happily, still not speaking, at loss for words. Both seemed strong, the result of having strong parents.

Sahara twitched uncomfortably as Dark came in, wriggling to the side slightly so she could he could see the pups, and she gestured with her tail to accompany her words, "That one's Daharro, like our names put together," ((lol, I just realized that that's totally a Pern custom. xP)) she gestured with her tail at the black and white one, before pointing her tail at the little grey one, "And she's RiverDancer, after the healer of my old Pack." Sahara flicked her ears lazily as she watched Dark nudge RiverDancer with a small chuckle. The storm was over, she realized, as she glanced outside, the snow had stopped falling... That was good. At least now she could go outside without being swamped by snow... On second thought, she couldn't. Sahara glared sullenly at the two pups that scrabbled at her side, Daharro continued to kick and flail, unlike his quieter sister. "They're crazy." she muttered, though a hint of affection danced through her voice, not that anyone who didn't know her very well would know that, "And so are you." she reflected with a chuckle, "And so am I."

Dark snickered and sighed. ''Love, this whole pack is crazy,'' He said as he rested his huge head on Sahara's flanks with a sigh. He looked at the pups with a enormous amount of love and care. RiverDancer let out a cry as one of her brothers paws pressed into her side and slid her over slightly. Dark put his nose to the grey pup again and sighed. ''Hush, darling. Daddy's here,'' He said softly as he closed his eyes. ''I will always be here for you, little one,'' He spoke with much affection in his voice. So much of this sweet emotion was almost imposable to imagine in the dark male, yet, he made it look so natural and flowing.

Sahara looked resolutely into the distance, her eyes locked on something Dark would never see, and her expression changed slightly, hardening, and a slight snarl rumbled though her body as she watched a memory of a battle rush in front of her body, and a silent wolf crouched in front of Daharro, his tail lashing from side to side as he gazed as the pup, turning his burning golden gaze upon Sahara. "Slovar." she murmured wonderingly, and the grey wolf nodded, his form fading away from her, and she watched longingly as her memory danced away from her. Slovar. She'd loved him once, after Dark had left her, she'd met him, and he was the one who'd broken her heart the worst, even more painfully than Dark. It was no wonder that she refused to trust him, Dark, when Slovard had left her for that female, and then he'd died, whispering to her that he'd never loved her. Of course, she'd wanted to believe otherwise, she'd looked for the evidence of his lies everywhere, but eventually she'd given up on it, but it looked like she still longed to believe that he'd loved her once. And apparently, she'd imagined something to make herself believe it. Daharro gave a startled whine, as if he'd seen the phantom that had haunted his mother, but he scrambled back to her side, tucking himself against her, reminding her that this was the real world now. She had Dark, even if he wasn't what she wanted, he would have to be enough... Sahara sighed, dropping her head onto the ground, her dull brown eyes gazing at the den wall, before she closed her eyes, though they snapped back open a moment as she forced herself not to dwell on Slovar. He was gone, dead, and she'd never let herself love again. Males were fickle. They weren't worth it, but you had to cling to them while you could. Sahara sighed again, closing her eyes once more and forcing herself to ignore the visions of Slovar that danced beneath her eyelids. Why he should come back now with such a vengeance was beyond her, and she didn't want to care about him anymore. He was gone, and he'd betrayed her. Dark would eventually as well, he'd forget the promises he'd made to her and attempt to woo Matsi once more. It wasn't worth it.... Sahara bared her fangs at the thought, creating quite the odd image - a little brown female snarling with her eyes shut, as if she were sleeping - and she thrashed her head from side to side, forgetting for a moment that others were watching her, that Dark was there, and so were her pups. Slovar. She had to get rid of him, he would poison her mind once more... Finally, she stopped moving, panting slightly as she snapped her eyes open to gaze silently at the wall beseechingly.

Dark was slightly startled by Sahara, as what RiverDancer who let out a small and soft yip. Dark pressed his massive nose to Sahara's face and then licked her slightly. ''Its alright, love,'' He said softly with a soothing voice that was cool, yet loving. ''I wont let your dreams haunt you,'' he added softly. At the sound of her father's voice, Riverdancer relaxed slightly wiht a sihg.

He was trying to comfort her, Sahara realized in the back of her mind, and she narrowed her eyes fiercely, "You can't do anything." she growled savagely, "This is something that's my problem. It's not yours. Don't bother getting involved. It'll send you running back to Matsi faster." she snarled slightly, "And since I know it will happen sooner or later, I'm going to keep fighting until the bitter end. Might as well. The pups aren't going to grow up without their father - at least, for as long as they survive." Sahara snarled slightly, a sound that tore through the back of her throat, and then fell silent, letting her unhappy words echo in the air before silence reigned in the cave once more. Daharro whined, but he had the sense to stay quiet, though before long he was scrambling away, his tiny body wriggling towards a rock on the ground, which he slammed his nose into. The pup gave a startled squeal, opening his mouth as wide as he could, wrapping his tongue around the pebble, before scrambling back to the warm body of his mother, where he curled around the pebble and dozed off.

Dark was slightly taken aback. ''Sahara, i knew that we took a chance of having pups that night. Never thought it would happen, but why would i even take the chance if i still lingered on anyone but you?'' he asked softly. ''These pups just prove that you are my heart and soul. I will never leave you or them, ever, and the only thing that will be able to sepperaate us will be death itself,'' He spoke as he licked the face of RiverDancer again.

It took a lot of effort for Sahara to not lose her temper, and she narrowed her golden eyes as twisted her head to glance up at him, "That's where we're different. You knew it could happen, you thought about it, I didn't. And honestly, I don't know. I'll never know. I'll never know why you left me, I'll never know why he left me, I'll never know why you came back to me." She bared her fangs once more, and silent, but still quite violent snarl shook her body. And then, when he spoke again, she snorted, a laugh burbling up inside her, "I'm sure that was what you said to Matsi, when she had your pups, but here you are with me. Why should I trust you? When I trust, it goes wrong, and you have proved that, Slovar proved that, too."

Dark sighed. So be it, he thought. He had never promised matsi anything, nothing at all, not even his love at the time, which he now knew was nothing but lust. He sighed and looked at Riverdancer again. She was quiet, soft even breathing making her small chest rise and fall. So delicate and small. It was hard to beleive that her father was Dark, one of the largest males in the pack.

He didn't say a word, and to her, that was an admission of guilt. Sahara let out a small sigh, but didn't say a word either, and she closed her eyes in an effort to fall asleep. She wanted to forget this harsh world she lived in and imagine a far better one for her and her pups, even if those same pups would probably not last beyond the sevenday....

Dark partially stood up for a moment and adjusted himself so that his chest and stomach was against sahara's back, to warm and keep her safe. He rested his head on her shoulders and sighed heavily.

She sighed as he dropped his head down, her eyes wearily sliding open, "You never give up, do you?" she questioned drily, but she didn't give him time to answer before her breathing evened out and her eyelids drooped downwards. She was asleep in less than a minute, her dreams haunted by the wolf who'd crouched over her pups, snarling.
