Amara raised an eyebrow, "The hounds are well trained, even if half of them are gone. Trust me, the hounds will come after us, we're high profile, and we're going to die unless we're out of here before they get there. They track by magic's trail. I can block it well enough, but they'll find us."
Lauren nodded, "Well, all right then, come on." the anger ran in a barely disguised current through her voice, "Before they start to wonder what's happened to us."

Perth nodded. ''Lead the way then, m'love,'' He said softly as he looked away. He decided to just stay silent now. He scratched his sore chest with annoyance and irritation. His skin was dry and itcy from the dried blood and dirt that covered him.

Amara's eyes flashed with annoyance, "I'm not your love, got that?" but she was walking, heading swiftly through the forest, following a trail invisible to all but her. The sunlight gleamed on her grey hair as she moved through a treeless patch, casting an anxious glance up at the sky. For all the tough show she put on, she was worried. Besides, behind her she could hear baying, and whether or not that was her imagination, she didn't care. They needed to be moving. Fast.

Perth only sighed and shook his head. ''In your eye it is differnt,'' He muttered so soft that she wouldnt be able to hear. He wished it would all just go back to how it was, back when he lived with with parents and he snuck out almost every weekend to the river to see her. The sound of the baying made perth's eye go sharp, ready to kill.

Amara grumbled to herself in annoyance, "Come on, move faster! We'll both get killed if the hounds catch us, and I don't know about you, but I myself do enjoy life." Amara broke into a run, "Whatever you do, don't use magic until they catch up to us."

Perth snorted as he picked up his pace. ''Magic?'' he said with a small chuckle. ''Never heard that one before,'' he said as he let out a small panting sigh. He wondered how far Catori and her stallion were... they never seemed to be too far..but were they close enough that StormMane would hear them? Probably not...

Amara rolled her eyes in disgust, "Your gift, idiot. There's only so much I can do to keep the hounds from tracking us, and the moment you start using your gift, it gets a lot harder." she glowered at Perth for a moment as she ran, the baying growing louder.

There was as sound of something big running just behind them. ''s***,'' perth cursed as he looked back, but the sight not only scared him atfirst, but relieved him. ''Hop on,'' It was maikoda in wolfform, running, her tongue lolling out of her maw. ''I wil get you out of here,'' She said as she ran beside them.

Amara snorted, "There's not an icecube's chance in hell that I'm riding a wolf. I'll find my own ride." she cast a glance towards the sky as a shadow passed over them, "Dragons work nicely. Griffins aren't all that bad." Genetic engineering was bound to come in handy /some/ day.

''Amara, this will get us far enough to get you to your...beast,'' Perth said with a smile. ''Its no different than riding Storm.'' He said as he looked at Maikoda. Her hackles were up as she ran, looking over her shoulder, her ears listening to the sound of the dogs.

Amara raised her eyebrow, "Hello!" she glanced at Maikoda, snickering, "She's a wolf. I don't like wolves, and I'd rather risk my chances with Sunburst than ride a wolf." she examined Perth, "And besides, she probably can't carry both of us." Amara glanced over her shoulder again, realizing absently that the baying was growing closer. The dogs were closing in, which meant they had to move.
"Forget it." she growled, scrambling towards Maikoda. "Beggars can't be choosers."
